Sky Country is a school that prides itself on providing effective instruction with a focus on college readiness. Our staff creates strong teacher, student, parent, and community relationships and continuously instills in children the ability to think, learn and achieve personal goals.
Using Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS), we have established school-wide expectations that support our three school rules: Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Safe. Students are explicitly taught social skills and strategies that help them to make positive choices. Positive reinforcement is used to help shape the character of each child.
Our staff is dedicated to continuous learning through professional development and use of school achievement data to discover the most effective ways to teach our students. We have high expectations for our students, our colleagues, and ourselves.
Parent and community partnerships are an essential piece to the success of a school. At Sky Country, we are privileged to have parent volunteers involved with enriching the experiences of our children on a daily basis. Our P.T.O. is a tremendous support and contributes significantly to the warm, inviting atmosphere of our school. P.T.O. coordinates various school activities and provides valuable funding for classroom support.
